This house is sited adjacent to The Murrough, a 15k long protected coastal. The structure of an existing timber frame garage is extended outwards and upwards to create an independent living + sleeping space. Openings are placed to create views to the orchard, treetops and surrounding the farmland. A full height window presents the evening sunset and the bedroom rooflight opens to capture the morning’s birdsong. The house is clad in a lightweight metal, dark green to camouflage with the canopy of the garden. The interior is designed to feel bright and open, inviting the garden inside.
