TAKE ME TO THE RIVER - EXHIBITION & ENGAGEMENT

Take Me to the River focuses on promoting a public conversation on the health of our rivers and waterbodies and thereby encouraging stewardship; bringing communities together in the fostering and long-term preservation of our local waterbodies. It combines artistic activities and scientifc knowledge in a playful activism to raise awareness about our relationships and responsibilities to local waterways.

A collection of the project’s work was hosted at the Swift Cultural Centre in Trim in October 2024. Cineál designed an exhibition that displayed the output of 3 participatory workshops that took place within the Boyne River and River Nanny Catchment. It also displayed a large scale immersive engagement map of the river to facilitate new conversations with the local community.

The exhibition used the material made at these events and the immersive map of the Boyne/Nanny to platform a continued discussion on the importance of stewardship through another series of workshops hosted at the Swift over the course of the exhibition.
